The last couple weeks over here have been a bit overloaded with travel talk as I wrapped up my series on our winter vacation to Hawaii. If you missed it, you can find the posts here: Adventures – Maui & Oahu / Food – Maui & Oahu.

In the coming weeks you can look forward to a new book review and my experience with 21 Day Fix. In the meantime, here are some of my faves from the week and around the web. I always love to hear what everyone else is enjoying, so share your faves in the comments section if you’d like!

I had a big wake-up call this week upon hearing about a heartbreaking medical diagnosis for a college acquaintance. All week long it seemed like I was getting hit left and right with inspirational quotes, TV segments, and articles about facing fear and jumping in so we live with no regrets. Then a friend posted this on their Facebook profile, and I had to share it. We’re all a work in progress, and this proves there’s no “designated” age for success: Inspiring List Reveals Ages Famous People Got Their Big Break, Proves You’re Never Too Old For Success

Dogs try to get peanut butter off their faces in a slobbery photo series. Is this not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? We have to give our dog Roxy a pill every day, and peanut butter is our fool-proof method for getting her to swallow it. Never thought about capturing her licking it off, but now we might have to for some entertainment value!

Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Shailene Woodley have started filming ‘Big Little Lies.’ As a huge Liane Moriarty fan (see my reviews of a couple books here and here), I couldn’t be more excited for this HBO Series to begin airing.

My dance cardio love – Jazzercise – will be offering free classes during the entire month of May. Locals – there’s a north and south location – check it out! I guarantee you will love it.

May-2016-Free-Days

A really great post for toddler moms and dads to keep in mind. I need to remember this on a daily basis: It’s Hard for Them, Too

As both a social media marketer and a new blogger, the views, like, clicks and statistics always weigh on my mind. Leslie Means’ take on the comparison game and her advice for not letting the numbers define our confidence is a breath of fresh air.

A quick no-cook healthy lunch idea from Jen Hatmaker. Take half an avocado, fill it with cottage cheese (none of that fat-free stuff…yuck), generously salt and pepper each layer, sprinkle on some sunflower seeds, and drizzle the whole thing with balsamic glaze (hint: if you’re like me and your balsamic reduction turns into a candied, burned mess at the bottom of the pan every time you make it, Trader Joe’s makes an awesome squeeze bottle version). This was surprisingly yummy.

20160426_190621757_iOSThe Overdrive app. This isn’t anything revolutionary, but I’m so thankful for audiobooks that I can check out from the libary, and this app that makes it easy for me to listen on my phone when I’m anywhere. There’s so much wasted time while driving, washing dishes, scooping cat litter (yep, that’s my life), or performing other mindless tasks – those are my favorite times to cue up a good audiobook. My latest faves are The 4-Hour Workweek and Dad Is Fat. Will report back. 🙂

Have a great weekend!
